Micronor is a slightly older, traditional version of the mini pill which needs to be taken within a 3 hour window every day. Unlike standard newer desogestrel mini pills, it doesn't stop you releasing an egg. However, it may be worth a try if you're someone who is organised, and are experiencing bleeding problems on the newer mini pills.

I am currently on Norethindrone and i do not recommend it. I have been eating healthy and trying to stay active. I have gained a total of 7lb in the last 3 months. It does not matter what diet i am on. I keep gaining weight. I also got mild headaches in the beginning. My breast are super tender and they feel larger. My appetite has increased a lot from being on this pill. I am planning on no longer taking this mini pill.

This medication improved my skin and stopped my periods and I didn’t get pregnant so it definitely went above and beyond it’s job. However, I’ve gained 15 pounds thus far and it seems like thats continuing to go up. I will likely stop taking it soon for that reason alone. Otherwise, it’s been the perfect experience of birth control.

This has worked well for me for years, no side effects (I already had migraines) and it reduced and lightened my periods.

This pill was more a slow and gradual change in my mood and symptoms compared to others like cerazette. However, over the course of a year I gained weight, was generally more unhappy. I ended up having a very painful period once a fortnight for the first 3 months. This did calm down and it wasn’t an awful pill, but I still would rather stay off hormones.

Using to start to prevent pregnancy then it was to stop my periods as I had periods lasting 2 weeks so it stopped those and now single 3 years don’t need to prevent pregnancy but just in case but I am now 47 so lower risk.
