Experience

I started taking cerazette about 5 years ago as I had entered a new relationship. It was decided that this was the appropriate pill for me as I was overweight and suffered with migraines, so it was less of a risk than the normal pill. After about 8 weeks or so my periods started getting lighter and after about 3 months stopped completely. I found this a bit strange but was reassured by a nurse that this was normal for this contraception. I soon got used to not having periods and I haven’t had one in about 3 years now (I bled due to some antibiotics I was taking which affected the pill). I’ve found that I’ve gained weight since being on cerazette and that my sex drive has dropped. I had mild anxiety and low self esteem issues before I started taking the pill but have found that it can feel heightened every so often, but I’m still unsure as to whether this is the pill or just down to lifestyle. On the whole I find that this works for me (despite the negatives of weight gain etc) as I used to suffer quite badly with PMS and period pains and by not having them is a bit of a relief!
