So I was changed to the mini pill after being on microgynon for 6 years as my gp realised that because of my migraines I shouldn’t be on it. I was then changed to cerazette. I’ve had so many side effects that I never linked to my changing the pill until recently and it makes so much more sense. Worst one, my back acne. Literally so painful, red and inflamed. This is why I will be stopping this pill. I’ve been on antibiotics for 4 months trying to get rid of this awful back acne to no luck. Makes me feel so so self conscious and I’m dreading summer now with my scarring. I gained weight. Which is annoying because I have PCOS so it’s not ideal to gain weight. I wish this would have been explained to me when starting this pill. I also have found my face to be even more oily then usual. I’ve always had oily skin, but it’s so much worse now too! I’ve had to switch up my skin care because of this. Benefit wise; my sex drive increased coming off the combined pill which was very welcomed as my sex drive was low before. I also liked that my periods stopped and I didn’t have to take a break from taking the pill you just keep taking it. Despite these, I am coming off cerazette, mostly because of the back acne. I am exploring other contraceptive options at the moment.
