Experience

I stopped the pill as I had low sex drive and mood swings. After the pill it took my periods a long time to become regular again so I was reluctant to go back on artificial contraception as I knew I would want to try to get pregnant in a few years time and I wanted to be as regular as possible by then. NFP took a bit of a learning curve. I used temperature charting combined with ovulation pee sticks to chart my safe days, and used condoms on my fertile days. It prevented pregnancy until I was ready to try for a baby and then once I used it in “reverse” I got pregnant straight away

Experience after taking

The big benifit of NFP is that once you are ready to try for a baby, there is no delay in getting back to normal cycles. You just use NFP charting in “reverse” to get pregnant rather than to prevent pregnancy. It was effective when I wanted to prevent pregnancy and effective when I wanted to try to get pregnant. I used it for 2 years to avoid pregnancy then got pregnant on first month of trying.
