Experience

Generally great as once you’ve had it you don’t have to think about it for 3 months. No scary side effects like with some other forms of contraception and the injection itself is just like a vaccination. Only problem was that I experienced spotting pretty much constantly. I had heavy periods that made me suffer before I went on the jab so I thought of this as a win as it was just slightly inconvenient rather than painful. My doctors told me this was uncommon. Another thing to consider is that once you come off the injection it can take months for your period to go back to normal, up to a year and a half. I didn’t realise the hormones used were so strong but would go on it again (if I wasn’t planning to have kids any time soon!)

Only been off it for a couple of months. Bleeding is slowly becoming more regular. Expect random bleeding for a while. No other notable changes other than tender breasts.
