Experience

Most doctors and nurses will advise you to try the conraception for 12 months so that you body can adjust, which is true but it feels like the longest year of your life. Initially my periods got shorter and lighter, in the first couple of months in the first year. Then maybe a little way into having the 2nd injection, I experienced a much heavier flow on my period, to the point where I had to change sanitary towels every 2 hours and the cramps pains hand me flinching. But, once the first 12 months were over my period did stop and things started to level off. I do occasionally have brief moments of feeling very emotional and overwhelmed, which i didn’t have before but it isn’t anything too major. I gound it a good type of contraception to have at university as I my mind was often focused on so many other things. All i needed was to set a reminer on my phone for every 12 weeks. It was good that i started it in yr 13 as i wouldnt have wanted to experience the first year on contraception when in the first year of university. My friend started (a different type) contraception in the middle if first year and found it hard to adjust to it whilst handling uni life and boys.
