Experience

I’ve had Nexplanon for 5 months, for 69 days out of 138 of those days, I have been actively on my period or spotting, or had heavy discharge to the point of needing feminine hygiene products. I’m consistently run down, my skin has become more oily, and I’ve gained weight. My moods however are thankfully unchanged. You’re told you have to let the implant settle for 6 months, which I am optimistic will then settle me into a regular period pattern again, otherwise by month 7 I can see myself changing my contraception. More needs to be said about how long, and how exhausting, the transition period of Nexplanon really is. Good contraception? Sure, so much so you often don’t feel like having sex!
