Experience

After six months with the implant, my bleeds became excessively long – lasting between 6-8 weeks – with a 1-2 week break between. After seeing a GP about this, and having an internal examination, I was put on the combined pill to create a regular bleed pattern, which worked for the other six months of being on the implant. However, around the 6/7 month mark of having the implant, I began to experience heavily depressive mood swings, in which I wouldn’t want to leave my bed, would sleep for long periods of time and still feel tired, I constantly felt cloudy and some days felt completely out of it. The implant also affected my anxiety, and I experienced more panic/anxiety attacks.

Experience after taking

Since removing the implant, depression is still an issue. However, the mood swings are much less intense and last longer. My periods are slowly falling into a regular cycle, although this took over 12 months. I felt much better after removing it.
