Experience

I was one of the lucky one's whose periods stopped completely. I've just had my first implant replaced after the three years, and the second one has treated me the same as the first. I don't get periods or period pains, and I don't think my emotions/becoming emotional has changed at all. In the spirit of being completely honest, when I had a my implant replaced their was a mild complication. When the doctor made the incision after numbing the area, she hit a nerve and my arm spasmed (poor doctor I nearly hit her in the face!). I had had tingling in my arm that lasted for around 2 weeks after that, but it self resolved and I have no lasting damage. However, I don't want this to put people off having the implant. I think the chances of something like that happening to someone else are negligible. I was just unlucky that my nerves don't lay in the normal place in the upper arm. It definitely hasn't put my off of the implant, and I shall be back in 3 years time for my next one.
