Experience

I had the Nexplanon implant for 3 years and it worked perfectly as a form of contraception but I did struggle with irregular and longer periods throughout this time. It took about a year for my body to fully adjust, during which time I had constant light bleeding for a period of 2/3 months. The following two years were easier but my periods were slightly irregular and would last for around 8/9 days whereas before they implant they’d last 5/6.

Experience after taking

I chose to return to using the combined pill once my Nexplanon implant had expired as I would prefer to have more regular, shorter periods and the implant did not provide me with this. I haven’t noticed many changes physically since returning to the pill, but my periods were immediately heavier and shorter.
