Insertion was quite painful although I had been briefed by many friends before having it done so I knew what to expect. The doctor was really kind and there was a nurse there for extra support during the procedure. The most painful part is when they grab onto the cervix for about 1 minute but it is bearable – felt like a very bad period paid. I did feel light headed afterwards and was sick when I got home for a bit but tbh I think that is just my body’s reaction to any weird haha. Have had it for about 2 months now and the cramps have somewhat subsisted – however they do come back. Ibuprofen eases them a lot so again it is not too much to worry about. I have had quite a lot of spotting and heavy discharge since, but this is still early days so I hope that goes after the 6 months mark. In terms of the coil itself – I am very happy with it! Completely forget its there and overall it is much better / easier than taking a pill everyday!
