Experience

Insertion was not too bad, a bit of pinching, but 3 days later I had agonising cramps which were more like labour pains than period pain. Got to a clinic as soon as I could but they couldn’t do anything other than recommend usual painkillers. 7 weeks later the Mirena came out by itself. Doctor said that there is some suggestion (but not yet much evidence yet) not to use a mooncup (which I use instead of tampons) at the same time as a coil as suction can make it get displaced. Very disappointing experience as I had hoped the Mirena would be my answer to contraception! I had no idea til reading reviews here that these agonising cramps can be a “normal” IUS experience.
