Experience

I’ve been using Mirena for the last seven years and I honestly believe is the best solution for an effective contraceptive with minimal impact in you. I’m 29, I don’t have children and I want to have at some point in my life. The type of hormone is different than pills so it’s localised and your cycle keeps happening month on month, even though it really minimises your periods or even stop them, your system still produces eggs and goes through the normal process. The reason for not bleeding is because the hormone that releases makes the womb to be ‘slippery’ and to not create a ‘sponge’ that would usually be where the egg would stay so that it would be fertilised. I’m now using the three years one and I have the period a bit more (maybe two or three days) than with the five years one. I would recommend it to everyone.
