Experience

I believe this method of contraception just isn’t for me. The insertion was the most painful thing I’ve experienced (they insert it without any form of anaesthetic or sedation, at least, in QC, Canada). Ever since I’ve had it, I’ve had irregular bleeding and worsened PMS/menstrual symptoms. I never used to vomit when on my period and now I experience nausea most times I have it and I’ve even vomited on a few occasions due to cramps. It may or may not be worsening my mental health. It has the advantage of being low maintenance, and if you don’t mind the insertion experience, you’re statistically more likely to enjoy having less frequent or non-existent periods and would still recommendtryinv it. I, personally, will never get one again due to how my body reacts to it.
