The only thing with having a coil is the discomfort of having it put in. I had cramps for around 48 hours after having it put in but that was a small price to pay for what i do get now. I have had no side effects, i can’t use hormone based contraceptives because they make me overly emotional and angry so a copper coil was the best option for me. 10 years of cover and all you have to do is check after each period that you can still feel the strings. I would say that sex at certain times of your cycle can be uncomfortable if your cervix is lower it is more likely you will feel it and my partner has describe feeling the strings as well so just take it easy at those times. But other than that i would recommend it to anyone who can have one.
