Experience

I knew that the IUD was going to increase my period and increase pain before I got it done- but I was keen to not have hormones in my body. However after the settling in period- my period remained VERY heavy. I’m talking an extra large tampon and a sanitary towel which I was having to change very regularly and would still accidentally find that I’d bled through my clothes. Pretty embarrassing. And chronic cramps. I then had an episode when I had chronic non stop bleeding and the IUD became lodged in my uterus wall. All pretty traumatic to be honest but not indicative of a normal experience. However as the general concept of an implant is great I opted to have another put in- just an IUS this time so as to reduce the bleeding/pain.

Experience after taking

It’s hard to say as my body was trying to recover from the trauma and then I had an IUS inserted. So means I don’t really know…
